Stunning dramatic coastal valley view at the very end of North Kohala. Black sand beach visible far below. The lookout itself is easy for all ages and takes 5 minutes. Hiking down to the valley floor is steep and muddy — wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty, not recommended for young kids. Combine with Kohala Zipline and Lapakahi Park for a full North Kohala day.
One of the most dramatic valley views on the island — sacred valley with towering cliffs, waterfalls, and black sand beach far below. The lookout is free and easy. IMPORTANT: The road into the valley is a 25% grade — 4WD required and rental cars are strictly prohibited from driving it. For families who want to go into the valley, book a guided shuttle tour. Check website for current tour options.
