Kohala Waterfalls Adventure — Hawaii Forest & Trail

North Kohala (departs from Kona/Waikoloa)
OutdoorAll ages — must be able to walk on rocky and sometimes muddy terrain.
Local Tip

The only way to see private North Kohala waterfalls — the Kona side's answer to a waterfall experience since the west side is too dry for accessible waterfalls on your own. Ride in a 6-wheel-drive Pinzgauer off-road through sugar plantation history, hike a lush rainforest trail past 7 waterfalls, swim under a cascading fall, and finish with a private picnic lunch overlooking the dramatic Pololu Valley sea cliffs. Bring a bathing suit, closed-toe shoes, light jacket, and sunscreen. Rain gear provided.
